What was this episode about?

Boasting clients such as Elon Musk, Paris Hilton, Kylie, Kendall Jenner, Facebook, The Grammys, The Australian Open, and many more, Jake Munday is not your ordinary next-door entrepreneur.

He is an astute entrepreneur who knows a thing or two about using social media and SEO to grow a business to reach a worldwide customer base.

Custom Neon, the company he co-founded with his wife, designs and manufactures custom LED neon signage for all events, businesses, and home interiors. They have offices in Australia, the UK, and the US and will hit $16 million in annual revenues this year.

The Story Behind the Business

Back in 2018, Jake and his wife Jess were preparing for the arrival of their son and were looking for some inspiration to decorate his nursery. They came across some neon signs on Pinterest and thought they would make a cool newborn nursery. The process of getting the sign proved difficult, and they thought it would make a good business idea.

Fast forward to 2022, they are the leading online business for custom neon signs with over 50 employees across 3 continents.

In this episode, Jake Munday talks about how he got the idea for customneon.com and how he initially started as a side hustle, only for the business to lit up to over $16 million in annual revenue.

He shares some lessons for entrepreneurs looking to scale their businesses across continents.
